The Hunt

The Direction

The Hunt was my first real attempt at a longer story. A simple script, four to five minutes, one clear idea: prove that direction matters more than the technology. The premise was familiar enough to follow, strange enough to stay with you.

The Process

I built the first professional workflow I'd use from that point on. Character sheets for consistency across the whole film, then spaces, then keyframes one by one. Once I had everything I assembled a storyboard to see if the story actually worked before touching a single video clip.

The hardest moment was the transformation. I didn't want a spectacular AI effect with camera movements that meant nothing. I wanted it to feel directed. The technology at that point couldn't give me what I had in mind, so I left it to the viewer's imagination. That decision taught me more about storytelling than any technical solution would have.

The Result

The Hunt became the foundation for every project that followed. Learning to work around a limitation turned out to be the most useful thing I took from it.
